Help Portrait
The process has begun for organizing the Help Portrait project. I have spoken to the Athens Housing Authority, and they are letting us use the Rocksprings Community Center in Athens. We need to design a flyer, so if you have expertise in that area, let me know. We will also be doing signup sheets for families and/or individuals in the community who want their picture taken. The tentative date is Saturday, Dec. 10, 2011 at 10 a.m. This is the international Help Portrait date. I know it’s the weekend in the middle of finals, but it may be a nice study break and an opportunity to give back to your community for the holidays. I will be registering our group with Help Portrait online. When I do this, I will post the link so you guys can join. I need you guys to help me out to make this happen successfully!

First Meeting!
Hey guys,
Our first meeting of the year is going to be on Tuesday, Oct. 4th at 4:30 p.m in room 130 of the Journalism building. I’ve been thinking about some speakers that we could potentially bring in, and I’ve also been brainstorming some other cool things I’d like to see happen in our group over the course of the year. I’ll bring all of this up at our meeting, but I would like you guys to bring some ideas and opinions to the table as well. I want this club to be a community. Everyone’s ideas count, and we need everyone to come together to make this a club that people after us can continue to enjoy. That said, speak up at the meeting! I’m excited to get this going, and I will see you guys on Oct. 4th!
